Default How to simulate 80hz LPF

I am getting rid of my mixer and one of the reasons i've used it is because of the 80 hz shelf switch on it which knocks out anything below that.

I have an emu 0404 card and noticed one of the effects i could slap on the insert seems to do the same thing, with an adjustable frequency range but it can go all the way down to -15. how much of the frequency should i subtract compared to thr switch on my mixer? which is a yahama MW10

Also I get the two confused HPF and LPF ( I know what they do) so excuse me if I referenced LPF wrong

hi-pass filters generally go cut everything below a certain point so you'd want to pull as much as possible out.

Personally I'd rather do this with Rea-eq's hi-pass and just move it til it sounds good, Rea-eq uses very little cpu and in fact I have it setup as part of my default track template because more often than not i'm using hi-pass on a track.

Kind regards

On a typical mixer, how much is "subtracted" from the signal on a HPF at 80 or 100 hz?

Depends on the slope of the filter.

I think a lot of mixers use a 12dB/octave slope like this example.
