Default VSTs not working after Windows 10 upgrade

I have finally upgraded my desktop from Windows 7 to 10. Reaper is loading the VSTs in my podcast template but not applying them. The input level is very low and the output sounds tinny and much worse than recording with no VSTs at all.

Is the solution uninstalling the VSTs and reinstalling them? I am hesitant to delete or uninstall anything. Thank you for any tips.

Try reinstalling the latest soundcard drivers for Windows 10.

If the plugins load and are of paid variety might be they just lost their activations/licenses (happens after a big system upgrade). So you'd need to dig out those logins/serial numbers or whatever and reactivate.

Which VSTs?

You could try to add one at a time to see if it's a particular one causing the issue. Depending on how many, might also be able to see if it's a particular combination.
