Default Media file help needed

Hi all. I could use a little help.
Ill tell you what ive done.
I had a track recorded at 103bpm. A friend of mine offered to play guitar on my track. My usual method to share the track so that whoever could drop the track into their DAW ( in this instance it is Logic ), would be to send a download link from Sound Cloud. But the friend who wanted to add guitar tracks doesnt have Sound Cloud. So i sent him an MP3 file from Audacity. Rightly or wrongly thats only other way i know of. Any how, he recorded the tracks at the same BPM as what the track is in Reaper. And he emailed me the Tracks in MP3 format. Now, im not sure what has gone wrong. But i added the tracks into my project as media files. But i cannot for the life of me get the guitar tracks to run in sync with the track. It starts fine but gradually the guitar tracks come out of time. As if the guitar tracks are running slightly faster. Despite them being recorded at the same tempo. I have tried everything i know to try and correct this. And my friend has gone back and double checked everything his end. Which is all fine.
Its a total head scratcher to me. Its probably a very simple oversight. But right now i am unable to figure out what went wrong.
Anybody got any sugestions ???
This probably wouldnt of even happened if we had done this with tracks stems instead of MP3.
Cheers folks

Did you match the sample rates?

Ey- i doubt that would change length--make a folder track--(have feint peaks visible) align the 2 tracks ---> very easy to view discrepencies like that.
The lengths should match to begin...if they do not then the recording cue may be off somehow..........
Make sure both playrates are bang on.

Easiest way i find is just to do it!
Search folder track videos or follow the user guide <> reaper has many guides in different forms. =)
Look bottom right corner of tracks--it shows an icon right?

I just looked on youtube. Creating a folder track is just going confirm what i already stated in the initial post. The guitar tracks start off on cue. But the go off cue.

Aye ok-well that would point to some type of timestretching being applied somewhere in your recordings or importings/exportings.. if the lengths are exactely the same??(check source properties) >>at least visually you will be able to tell when and where trackings start to drift.. (using folder visual feedback)
Popping some cue markers into recordings is nice for this type of realignment..

Ive given up. The tracks are going to have to be recorded again.
I tried time stretching the track and aligning everything up with the kick drum. But despite my best efforts it still sounds awfull. I think if this was a drum track it would be a easier. But while they heavy rock guitars its very difficult ( ot at least to me it seems )to get the timing bang on

maybe worth trying to get your guy to send you a mixdown of the original backing mp3 - at the same settings he's rendering the guitar at - this may help you pinpoint the tempo difference?

Google what my friend? (did you edit/change your post btw?) > changing sample rates should not change length--right?
Please point me in a direction, because reaper sr converts 1 for 1 length wise here....

Reaper will SRC on the fly so mixing sample rates in itself shouldn't be an issue.

But still the guitarist may have used the wrong sample rate in his project and so managed to record the guitar at a different speed.

Does the sample rate of the audio he sent you match the sample rate of your project?
