Default MIDI Editor: different noteheads per MIDI note number (pitch)

In the piano roll of the MIDI editor we can choose diamonds and triangle for all MIDI notes.

What if we had more choices? Like circle and square? Or 4 kind of triangles pointing left, right, up and down?

If we now could assign a note head to a MIDI note number, ie a row, then we could have similar note heads for similar sounds. Eg squares for kicks, circles for snares, etc.

If this can be scripted it would work well with SWS rules. Eg if the note contains "kick" it gets a square note head, etc.

Just some sugar until we get a real drum rack. Read: a piano roll that can be reordered.

I know and this request is explictely for the piano roll.

I think it might be nice to have a visual clue for the sound by its notehead. When they all look the same I have to follow the horizontal grid to the piano roll at the left to see if its a kick or a snare.

Also different colours by pitch could be nice.

Don`t hold your breath..

Leading up to the notation editor being added, I tried to convince the devs and others on here that a hybrid stave (what you are asking for but superimposed on a conventional musical stave) was a great compromise for those of us who like the notation staff itself, but are challenged by things like rests and note types (semiquavers, crochets, etc.)

Ah, well..........
