Default Warning: Overheating risk with Retina Macbooks

before I explain the problem let me first clarify, that this is NOT a Reaper problem, but a design fault by Apple!

When running at high CPU the Retina Macbooks can get very hot, because Apple desided to keep the fan noise low by using a so low RPM, that the CPU runs at it's specs limit.

I noticed that by chance and it happens in games and when using CPU hungry instruments like NI Polyplex.

I solved the problem by installing smcFanControl and setting a minimum fan speed with double the RPM as the default. Btw, the above tool is free and shows also the average temperature.

PS: When you google for "Macbook overheating" you'll find tons of articles and discussions about this topic.
Greetings from Germany
