Reaper, Screensets & Control Surfaces

A while back I gave up on my Mackie controller's and got rid of them. One of the main reasons I ditched them was the inability to ever get them to synchronize properly with screen-sets in reaper. I use screen-sets extensively to manage larger projects. Whenever I would select a screen-set in reaper, however, the control surfaces would continue to show all tracks, making it very confusing.

Is anybody using control surfaces successfully with screen-sets? Thanks in advance for any input.
