Default Running a vst as Native\ seperate process\dedicated process

Whats the basic difference in running a process as Native\seperate\dedicated ?
Can anyone help with examples how each of them can be used in practical scenarios , or is is just best to leave it default ?

Leave it at default unless you have problems with a plugin. Isolating it can help it not crash or keep Reaper from crashing with it. Each process uses more resources, so only use as required.

AFAIK, Dedicated means discreet, individual-plugin processes, and Separate means a process for plugins separate from Reaper (can host multiple plugins).

Hi fox,
I have been having issues with UVI falcon , thats why i was looking into it too..as of now i have put it as a seperate process.. hoping that it will access processing outside of reaper..but that was just a guess. Thank you for the suggestion. will see if i can dig out some further reading material !

cheers

In the past I had to run all NI plugins in a dedicated process for stability. Lately I tried switching them back to native and it seems it's no longer necessary to run them separate.

But yea, if a plug is bringing down Reaper, this can prevent that or even fix the crashing altogether.
