Default Help with opening window.
When I open, (insert), a simple stereo media file, it always opens like the 1st pic. Then, I have to resize the two upper areas to fit like the 2nd pic. Is there some way I can make it default to opening like pic 2?

Hope that makes sense. Thanks all.

If you just wwant to stop the cursor going to the end of the item untick Prefs/Editing behaviour/Move edit cursor when pasting/inserting media.

I also checked "Move cursor to start of time selection on time selection change."
