Transpose notes and default note lenght
Like title says, I would like to have a transpose drop down menu for selected notes. value could go like so: +1, +2, +3, +5, +octave and reciprocal in the minus.
I know that could be done somewhat in the note properties dialog, but not really because if you have two different notes selected then you don't have such option.
As to the why; say you have a violin section and you want to hear what it would sound like with violas instead, well, transposing a whole clip is a must.
I think a default note lenght option is self explanatory.

Do you know shift-0 and shift-9
don´t know if they do it, with notes, or only items, though

That's to pitch shift the sound of a clip, transposing notes is a different thing. But thanks anyway.

Actually in reaper if you "pitch shift" a midi file it transposes all of its notes..

You mean it transpose the MIDI data non destructively before it is sent to the VSTI or outboard tone generator? I have to try with outboard gear...
Why not reflect those changes in the actual MIDI file data thought?

It´s actually a fast way to build a bass line, make the riff, and change the different parts to the key you wan´t

Yes, I understand now that, with the way Reaper handle MIDI, changing the MIDI data would change all the clips that use the same MIDI source as in this way, you can still pitch shift individual clips independantely.
It can get very confusing very fast thought on project with lots of MIDI tracks and clips.
