Which approach for MIDI function in arrange?

Hey all,

I'm writing a script that will copy CC1 to CC11 and I want to be able to execute it from the arrange and the MIDI editor. How would I approach this, also to catch multiple selected items?
The "get active editor" function won't work, because this will only catch the item inside the editor and not in the arrange.
