Default Another suggestion.

It might be nice to have certain globally set variables so users wouldn't have to enter them into each effect. I know that inter-effect communication could facilitate this, but then effect writers have to coordinate.

The obvious example: BPM. :-)

Are there any plans for this?

I was thinking of the exact same thing last night. Perhaps Justin could be persuaded to reserve and document meanings for certain well-known shared variables? If everyone knew reg00 would always be BPM, it would make life easier for plugin writers.
