for some reason WT put it in the Dead Ringer folder instead of the main Imperial folder.
Give me an hour or two.
The update will still be labeled as v2.8

Feel free to hold off for some future update, Lucas. This is a -10 on the 1 to 10 scale

Thanks once again Lucas. If you're ever in the southcentral MO area, I'll buy you the beverage of your choice.
This theme has really solidified nicely. Love it

It's really odd, because I know it was fine on my 1920x1080 screen, but when I checked after reading your message, it was messed up, but not like your screenshots.
It was pushed up into the Source switch image area.
I rechecked the code and and it was using some complicated relational 'math'for the pan position.
I simplified the code and it works on my monitor, so it should work on your 1920x1200 screen.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to a 2560 x 1440 display, so I cannot test it on that.
Hopefully the new 2.9 version will take care of it.

Lucas, this theme is gorgeous. Would it be possible to add more fader colours? I would love to see red, green, blue and grey (perhaps also yellow) on both grey and black channel strips, but right now there's only red on black, green on grey and blue on grey.
I was also wondering what made you decide for this way of folder hierarchy in the mixing panel (1 light instead of 8 as in the native theme).

The theme is finished for me at this point, but more fader colors are possible if you mod the theme yourself.
Adding faders is possibly one of the simplist layouts to add.

Space, mostly. The default mixer layout is much slimmer than the White Tie default and I was trying to keep the fader section as clean as possible.

That is a partial truth because you made some very nice graphical variations.

Alright I will try. Could you give me some pointers because I have never edited a Reaper theme before.

You should read the basics of theme editing sticky:
http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=30203
Here is a quick rundown:
The .ReaperThemeZip file is a Zip file with 2 items inside.
The .ReaperTheme main file and the image folder
1) Move the .ReaperThemeZip to backup folder and unpack it there.
2) Copy the unpacked .ReaperTheme file and the corresponding folder to Reaper's ColorThemes folder and rename them to something else, like Imperial_LCS_Garwyx.
3) open Reaper and load the theme. Open the theme editor and point it to the image folder. now save the theme. let it overwrite.
4) open the image folder and create a new sub folder called 'faders'.
5) in the faders folder create sub folders for the fader colors. example: faders/red or faders/yellow.
copy the corresponding fader to the fader color sub folder.
The fader image file is named MCP.VOLTHUMB.PNG and the MCP.VOLBG.PNG
6) now copy the faders folder to any additional layout folders you want them available for.
7) in the main image folder find the 'RTF.CONFIG' file and open with a text editor.
8) scroll down about half way to find the MCP (mixer) layouts. layouts start with ' Layout' and end with ' Endlayout'.
Find the layout you want to add color faders to and insert the fader code just before the 'Endlayout' entry.
9) Fader code for the default layout will look like the following:
Layout "Red Fader" "fader/red"
set mcp.size [70 874]
Endlayout
Layout "Yellow Fader" "fader/yellow"
set mcp.size [70 874]
Endlayout
Layout "Blue Fader" "fader/Blue"
set mcp.size [70 874]
Endlayout
10) Fader code for the other layouts will include the layout folder name:
Layout "Red Fader" "black/fader/red"
set mcp.size [70 874]
Endlayout
Layout "Yellow Fader" "black/fader/yellow"
set mcp.size [70 874]
Endlayout
Layout "Blue Fader" "black/fader/Blue"
set mcp.size [70 874]
Endlayout
11) these entries must come before the Endlayout entry of the layout you are appending.
Good luck!

It took a while to find some time, but thanks to your explanation it was very easy. Thanks a lot, it looks great!
Fyi I jacked the blue and green fader from the REAPERIAL theme ( http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=109867).

Why does the MCP master look that way in your screenshot?
is it docked on the bottom or something?

you can get more faders from Snap's Imperial mod.
Here's the Forum page for his mod.
IIRC, he got them from Hopi's Imperial mod and Hopi used some faders from WynD.
Snap's mod is the easiest way to get them for most people.

Did the tweaking on my laptop, which has a small screen. So the MCP is compressed.

Ah you're right, the original WT has the same colour faders. At any rate, they work.
I specifically wanted red and blue faders such that I can label my left and right tracks. For now, I'm using the green ones for mono tracks just because I can, but I have no real use for them yet. I definitely do not need more colours right now.
Is there a way to automate MCP track layouts, such as can be done with track colouring with the SWS Extension? I'm using templates so it's ok, but automation would be ideal.

There might be. I don't know for sure, but there is probably a thread for it already.
try doing a search of Themes and Icons forum for it.

Turns out that since SWS Pre-release 2.8.4 (current stable is 2.8.3 whereas current Pre-release is 2.8.6) it is possible to Auto Color, Icon ánd Layout. So I can indeed do what I wanted to.

I have another question regarding the rtconfig.txt file. If I add more fader colours, the play/pause bar in Reaper becomes very small. Any idea why?
I added the faders to the section before specific layouts (first layout in your file is <Layout 'a01 -- Black' 'black'>), section starting with clear mcp.*
This is what the bar looks like:

If it was fine before adding code and is not O.K. after, this would indicate an issue with your code.
placement of code or missing brackets [ or ] will cause it to affect other layouts.
The fader code must be inserted just before the Endlayout statement for the layout you are adding the fader to.

Think I have it. First of all, I inserted only the 2 lines you indicated within existing layouts. That messed up the main bus layout. Second, I used " (which is what you indicated) instead of '.
Now it works properly.

It should be 3 lines:
line #1: Layout "Blue Fader" "black/fader/Blue"
line #2: set mcp.size [70 874]
line #3: Endlayout
these will be followed by the next 3 fader layout lines or the closing Endlayout statement for the layout you're adding the faders to.
In other words, the last fader layout would look like this:
Layout "Blue Fader" "black/fader/Blue"
set mcp.size [70 874]
Endlayout
Endlayout
not sure using double or single quotes matter, but stick to single quotes for this theme snce that's what's being used.
I pulled the fader code from my Solaris mod and it uses double quotes.

I've recently begun using Reaper, and this has quickly become my standard theme. It looks terrific, and I appreciate the effort that you put into it. The meters look great, and the fact there is a slim version is perfect. I use the black mixer panels rather than white.
If you decide to revisit this I would love to have a version where the mixer track panels have bigger (taller) meters. The meters look terrific, and it's a shame they aren't a little more prominent. Maybe the Send section could be made a little bit smaller to allow the meter size to be increased?
I'm being far too picky, it looks great as is. Again, thank you so much for the work you have done.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For anyone who unfamiliar with the Imperial theme, it requires at least one monitor capable of 1920x1080 resolution and Reaper needs to be run in full screen mode.
In Preferences, go to 'Appearance', then 'Track Control Panels' and set the 'Volume/Pan' fader range to +10 db. leave Shape at default.
Right click on the Master channel and uncheck 'Show Multiple Rows'. I also suggest unchecking 'Show FX Parameters When space allows' if you don't use them. The FX Parameters work, but they're bit twitchy to pull up and a little difficult to use on the Slim layout. They work fine on the other layouts. It's possible to leave the setting on and just not pull them into view on the Slim layout.
If you dock the mixer, it must be located on the left or right sides.
This allows for an Inspector setup, but the Slim layout will always show the channel next to it in the Inspector mode.
To avoid that issue, I created a copy of the theme without the slim layouts, then quickly switch between Mixer layouts using a hotkey to change themes. You will need to edit the RTF file to remove the Slim layout and the main theme file for to point it to the correct folder. It's functional without doing this, but it makes it easier or clearer to use the Inspector mode with the default and the slim layout only used for a full mixer view.
MCP Layouts:
- Default........... 3/4's the size of the White Tie default layout.
- Black........... black version of the 3/4 size default layout.
- Red Fader....... black layout with a red fader.
- Yellow Fader.... black layout with a yellow fader.
- Slim.............. strip size layout packed with as many functions as possible.
- Extended.......... full size layout with a large FX/Send list section.
- Master Default.... I left this in because it shares the meter with the default layout and I could not get around that issue. any ideas?
- Big Meter......... same size as default, but with a big meter. (thank you, Snap)
- Master of the Universe......... a request from ReaperMadness
- Tracking.......... White Tie's tracking layout. I left it in bceause I may want to use it in the future.
- Blank............. useful as a section divider
Starting with White Tie's Imperial, I then took the Transport, the master channel Big Meter Slim backgrounds and the FX/Send list mods from Snap's Imperial Mod and then added the track label from the Imperial 24 mod (which they had taken from another theme, it turns out). Version 2 includes the track folder indents from lodsb's folder mod.
Please note that the 'REC' and 'SRC' LEDs by the faders on the Extended layout are clickable.
The Input FX LED on the 3/4 size default layout is also clickable and the Insert and Bypass LEDs on the 'Slim' layout are clickable as well.
The MCP bus folder LEDs are clickable. Note that if the folder LED is on a strip or 'Slim' laout, you need to click on the right side of the LED or the 'US' part of the word BUS.

This is still my main & only theme. Thanks, Lucas.
I do have one request, though ('probably saw that one coming a mile away...).
Could you find time in your busy life to give us a "Master Of The Universe" Master Mixer Panel in Black, so it matches the 'Extended FX Black'?

It's now available.
Please download from Stash for the latest version.
https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1719/Im...LCS-mod_v2.zip
I actually worked on this before, but was not happy with the result. I cannot duplicate the 'Imperial' script, so I left it out.
While this version doesn't have the 'Imperial' script branding, I think it's good enough to release now.

Very nice update .... and THANKS !
BTW ... what is the FONT used in the ChannelName on the MIXER ?
also ... I wish the Name [background] on the sidepanel could have the same gold/yellow. It makes it so much easier to see/read.
thanks again.

It's now available.
Please download from Stash for the latest version.

I actually worked on this before, but was not happy with the result. I cannot duplicate the 'Imperial' script, so I left it out.
While this version doesn't have the 'Imperial' script branding, I think it's good enough to release now.

Just downloaded and will give it a run later on. I'm a big fan of White Tie's work and you look to have done some tasty tweaks Lucas.

Arial-regular-size 8
It's standard Windows font.
I think the equivalent on a Mac might be Helvetica.

I tried it early on while working on the mod, but I could never get it to look right on the TCP.
It always looked 'tacked-on' instead of 'belongs there' like it does in the MCP.

Transport view broken beyond 1920 wide
Bummer - I recently got a 4K display. I'm using it with no scaling, full res. It's a beautiful thing. I had 2 1920 x 1080 side by side. This is the same physical width as those two combined, so ends up being like a 2 x 2 array of 1920 x 1080 displays with no seams. Like I said, it's a beautiful thing.
The problem starts as the main window is stretched beyond 1920 wide. As the window is widened, the controls are gradually covered by the Now Time display which gradually moves to the center as it widens. At full width, the transport controls are no longer accessible.
I tried to do screen grabs, but everything is choking when I try to upload them.

Bob - Try Options/Layouts/ Transport/Default as opposed to "Centered".
Works here on my 2560 wide monitor. But you're right, when "centered" it disappears.
Hope this helps.

Thanks RM. That makes everything visible again -an improvement for sure- but has the transport controls off to the left again.
The larger the screen, the longer the mouse trip. I remember Lucas doing the mod to center those controls. It was already a long trip at 1920
I think if the Now Time display didn't keep growing beyond reason, this wouldn't happen.
Thanks again. Hopefully something quick and easy can be done to solve this.

Maybe try a Faderport. I love 'em.
