Hmmm.
Seems the vocalist uses microtuning (some kind of Maquam), while the instruments are TED12.
To my ears this seems a bit inconsistent.

She's amazing. She can sing anything. inconsistent is my middle name.the idea was to give another feel to the tune as I found the melody rather beautiful.

Hey- yeah real nice..very meditative,pleasing.
Find chants touch the inner core a little more..and if you actually ripped that vocal? the clean up job, tracking and overall blending sounds good here.
Thanks4sharing.

Yes I thought the tune had a lot of potential creative possibilities.
Just playing around really. I love that vocalist.

There's nothing better than getting lost in your own creative imagination. I'm not too bad at coming up with ideas but I'm crappy at mixing. Trying to make it sound good is stressful for me mainly because I've not really got a clue I lack that inner Dan Worrall 😁

LOL- i see things much differently.
A. Knowing & beiieving,can be 2 different things,in 1 mind.
B. Your are not crap @ mixing.
C. Everything truly is..relative to a perception.
D. Once you fully accept, realize, dan is part of you,not something seperate..1 can become more united,in their view & abilities.
E. Yaddayadda yaah...shooby dooo wup.

At the end of the day the composition or song is king. If a certain amount of musicianship and inventiveness is in the song that's the main thing. Getting it to sound good is another aspect. a mediocre tune can be greatly enhanced if it sounds great and perfectly mixed.

Like a nice haircut is nice even if there is no hair there?
Just wondering. Doesn't musical substance matter?

I've heard crappy bootleg recordings of Zappa stuff and I hardly noticed the quality being more concentrated on the composition.
If you took the trouble and time to create a piece of music you of course you want it to sound as sonically pleasing as possible.

The difficult thing was there was no click or tempo on this. Everything was intuitive. It was fairly difficult. Took a while.

That sounds great, very chill & meditative. I can imagine the challenges of working around an already existing, free time, partly microtonal sample, but the end result sounds great to my ears.

micro
Since my opinions are microtonal, I can have a handful, really close together. Maybe that is true of us all, whether we know it or not. I suspect that the noted inconsistency between piano-tones and maqamaat is an inevitable grinding of the many artistic teeth against each other's training. Arab, Persian, Indian musicians have been using and making statements about such conflicts for hundreds of years, and out of it has emerged a symphony of critical standards.
After listening to this particular piece several times, I liked it last more than the first. All of the voices are very clear, but not their sonic combination. funny.
