Default TIP: Sends within the FX chain

Several people have asked about Sends from any point within the FX Chain, rather than at the end of the chain.

This should work: make the track multi-channel, connect the output pins for the FX to some spare channels, and Send those channels to the desired track. As in this example:

The fully-effected audio is on channels 1+2 and 3+4 are used for a sidechian into the Compressor.

This really is the best thing about Reaper. If you really want to harness its power, you must understand the pin connectors and multi-channel routing in general. There are automagical actions and scripts and plugins that can keep you from having to look at it, but if you understand what those things are doing, you can just do whatever you want.

It would be nice if we could name those track channels, though.

PS - If this is meant to be a tip, you should probably tell folks which script you're using there. I don't get a fancy display like that, and have to just keep track in my head.

You may want to look for "TrackFXs RoutingMatrix"

Another amazing script

Neat! I am just barely starting to understand pins at the surface but this is indeed cool.

Worth mentioning maybe that we can use a very similar principle in order to Recive to a place somewhere in the middle of the chain also, if you ever need to for whatever reason. I guess people do that with sidechain signals without even realizing, but it can have other uses also.

This and custom colors would make the whole affair much more intuitive. The number matching game makes my brain feel like a scrambled egg on drugs.
