Default Getting ready to build a new PC but need help

Hello, new member here. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I am going to have a PC built for me but I'm not so good at computers so I was hoping I could describe what I am going for and maybe get some advice or suggestions.

I'm starting a symphonic black metal solo project. I am probably going to get Reaper as my DAW and I think that getting an audio interface would be best, that way I can plug my guitar into my computer and use amp simulators (although I hope I don't have latency issues) I have a friend that plays drums but will be getting some sort of drum kit for temporary use.

I will also be getting Kontakt and using many samples and various packages to add in to the music (which can take up a lot of RAM and processing power) One thing in particular I am getting for that great orchestral sound is this: https://8dio.com/instrument/majestica/
I have read online that putting your DAW and pluggins onto an SSD is a good idea.

So I don't think it's anything too fancy, I just know nothing about buying computer parts. Any help you can give me would be appreciated!

Hi and welcome to the Reaper forum!

I just wanted to point you to two recent threads that were discussing DAW PCs.
https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=204685
https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=206378

Other than that I think it would be important to tell us your budget.

I cannot help you much with specifics when running large projects since I don't have this experience myself.
I assume you are going for a Windows computer (you mentioned "PC").
I guess a fast processor (Intel or AMD), 32 GB RAM and a large SSD (500-1000 GB) would be optimal.

I'm sure there are other guys here that might have more specific suggestions.

I'll have to check those out later when I get off work. I know I'm going to spend over $1K and all the pluggins and what not on top of that, so I would like to really keep it as low as I can. However I know all too well the truism "you get what you pay for" and so at the same time I don't want to be cheap and get sub-performing equipment.
