Default e-drum mapping

seems like i posted in the wrong forum, this one seems dedicated for a newbie such as myself:

Hello!

I just purchased my first e-drums, an Alesis DM6 usb kit. Figured i'd try it out with Reaper hooked up with Superior Drummer 2.0.
All the VSTs are loaded, the e-drum registers all hits to Reapers master mixer. No problems so far, however..

When I sample hit on an instrument, let's say the snare kit in my preloaded Reaper/Superior 'construct' kit by mouse clicking it, I works fine.
As soon as I hit my e-drum snare it only plays and records the default Alesis sample.

It feels like i'm not too far off from getting it to work, but somewhere i've forgotten to enable a setting or option. Anybody got a clue? Thanks!

That ought to do it, right? Still no success I'm afraid.

Also turn on the little green speaker icon to monitor the vsti... on the TCP track.

then in SD2, be sure that the midi note your edrum is sending is the correct note to trigger whatever sound you have loaded in SD2... you can set those at the far right lower corner of the SD2 GUI.. [not shown in your picture, so drag the window for the GUI open]

when you hit the snare, do you see the snare in the SD2 gui fire ?

If not, remove the snare note associations in the bottom right and click learn and then hit your snare again.

make sure the green input monitor is on too.

When I mouseclick/hit the snare in the gui kit I get the sample sound I want..when I hit the snare on my e-drum, it's completely different tone. All the same visual stuff seems to show and blinks away however, the hits on the snare the fx in the mixer. Both track 1 with SD2 and Track 2 - S1/2 seem to be active, with the latter one registering all the hits. Could that be something?

I've tried all of the above suggestions..enabling monitoring, record arm, try deleting/learning changing notes.
