Default Add Midi without recording

Thanks for taking the time to read my question.

I'm watching the video on "MIDI" but the instructor starts by recording using his keyboard.

Is it possible to add all notes manually without recording? If so, how do I create the "spot" to begin editing?

Thanks

...of course I figured it out RIGHT after I posted.

1. Select the Midi track
2. Insert Menu
3. New Midi Item
4. right click on the new "white box"
5. Select Open items in editor -
5a.Open items in built-in MIDI editor (the help video says this one is more powerful)
or
5b.Open MIDI item in editor

Insert / new MIDI item - then dbl click the newly created item to open the MIDI editor, where you can draw in your notes etc.

Edit - you beat me to it

Very sorry, this actually only adds a small section and if you drag it, it just repeats...

Still looking for solution

untick "loop source" in item properties (F2)

Method 1:
Make that small section as long as you want, right-click on the midi-item and choose "Glue selected items"

Method 2:
Open the small midi item, by double-clicking on it, go the event list. Edit the value for "End All Notes Off".
