I ordered one this week while it's on sale. Looking forward to try it out.

Here's a good article on the topic from a user

Hi, I have one of those Stream Deck.

Do you know if I can chage keys layout contextually to the Reaper focus? Like contextual toolbars for example.

You will have to build your own setup but as a Reaper user, you are probably used to doing so in Reaper, aren't you?

Unless Cockos decides to release an official default config, which is now possible if I understand well the 4.0 release notes for Stream Deck:

- We're excited to announce that Stream Deck 4.0 marks the release of the long-awaited, much requested SDK!

Yes I'm used to but I need the profile to change contextually to the focus in Reaper.

I think now it will be possible to develop a plugin for Reaper.

V 4.0 is out.

So please developers show us what you can do with it in Reaper.

Just purchased one!
It would be great if there was tighter integration with the Reaper actions.
For now programmed key shortcuts work great!

It’s absolutely great. Would have been even more awesome if there was a MIDI template similar to MetaGrid iPad app.

Just found out about this today

https://bitfocus.io/companion/

There is a reaper config but it's incomplete, just transport and marker nav.

Using OSC you can do much more with it.

Interesting - will check that app out.

I've been using companion for the GrandMA stuff, but I haven't been able to get it to work at all on Reaper. What settings am I missing? I'm definitely not a DAW guy, just use it for SMPTE based videos, so I'm not super proficient in all the ins and outs of Reaper.

Thanks!

Are there any stream deck users here who also use radial menu?
I am wondering just how much i would gain from stream deck. Suppose it is hard to tell without actually using one for a while, but if ther is anyone with experience on both, i would love to hear from you

I was looking to buy this one as well, not so much for Reaper but for Sibelius, but unfortunately no Windows 7 support.

Stream Deck has MIDI extensions now, both on Mac and PC.
I tested Mac version and it works like a charm! Much better than key strokes!

Just an update - Stream Deck has a great integration with Reaper thanks to OSC protocol. It can work either via official Elgato app or Bitfocus Companion. Both options are great. I have normal and XL version, both are fantastic and useful.

This is much faster to set up than official software, because it doesn't need icon files for simple button color change. I'm on the Companion now and it's great!

Very cool ... upgraded to new Windows 10 and about to jump onboard and get me one as well, not so much for Reaper but Sibelius (and Dorico).

I'm going for the XL, a little pricey these days, over $400.

Anyone else having a problem with Reaper losing its connection with Companion? Happens especially if you quit and restart Reaper or load a new project - it stops hearing commands from the Stream Deck.

Solution seems to be changing the ports on BOTH Reaper and Companion until the button presses register (doesn't work immediately every time). What could be the issue?

Here's my Elgato XL -- I am using it not for Reaper (already have a nice motorized fader / controller) but for Sibelius and Dorico.

The customized images and mapping to Sibelius / Dorico are available from Philip Rothman's webstore, he's the guy that has a terrific blog site for anything related to music engraving (Scoring Notes).
