Default Preference not Functioning: Mousewheel

Under 'mouse: mousewheel modifier keys for main Window', changing the Vertical Scroll modifier has no effect. The mousewheel ALWAYS scrolls vertically, and I can't stop it. The other modifiers work properly.

WinXP
Mouse: Logitech VX Revolution
Reaper v. 2.018 and 2.019

Hi Glubber,

I've got it set to "none" for vertical scroll which is the mousewheel without any modifier key, it works.
I just tried it with shift as modifier key and it works, too.

Thanks for the replies,
Clearly not all systems suffer from this, but mine definitely does.
I'm now using v.2.020. I was hoping the re-installation would help, but no. It's especially frustrating in the MIDI editor, but the same occurs in the main screen...
oh well.

Pretty close, slightly different modifier keys. I tried it exactly like in your picture, but nothing has changed: I can't stop vertical scrolling.
cheers

try renaming your Reaper.ini to Reaper.old,
then restarting the application.

does that help?

That caused the original Reaper.ini to appear, definitely worth trying, but sadly it had no effect on the problem

Same problem here.
I suppose its a problem with Logitech SetPoint mouse software.

UPDATE: I've discovered: When the main window is out of focus, the vertical scrolling follows preferences, but as soon as the window is active, it ignores the preference! The same occurs in the MIDI editor: if the Editor is on top, but not in focus, it scrolls properly, but as soon as the window is in focus, it ignores the Preferences...

It would be nice to get some official support on this issue.
I don't think it's a Logitech issue, since I don't have any problems in other apps.
