mysterious UAD behavior (2.0xx (?) - 2.020)

Xcita works ok (woohoo!), but UAD started to behave strange:

I've put a few UAD plugins on 3-4 tracks. Reaper played the tracks without problems, but distorted and hanged for a moment, when stopping playback.

So I've tried to turn off anticipative FX for these tracks, resulting in Reaper freezing for a few seconds on pressing play - every time (!).

Tested and confirmed with v.2.020.

Btw, native CPU load was also high (96% with just two W-limiters, ozone with one band of harmonic exciter and one ReaEQ). The project was no more than 4 tracks total. cpu: 1.4 Pentium.
