Default How do I stop triggering actions assigned to midi notes when playing my midi keyboard

I can't see a way to restrict the midi notes the actions receive to a particular controller, so I end up triggering actions when playing my midi keyboard. Is there a solution for this?

Preferences/Audio/Midi Devices - Find your keyboard under Midi Inputs list, right-click and uncheck: Enable input for control messages.

My actions are assigned to midi notes, and in any case, I have controls on my keyboard which require cc to be enabled

Assign the actions to a MIDI channel you're not playincg with your keyboard (if that's feasable)?

I don't know how one would do that... can you elaborate?
it seems to me that when you assign a hot key that is a midi note to an action it triggers regardless of what is going on on other channels

I had the same idea, and I think hopi is correct. This seems to be an oversight.

To clarify, I have an ipad and a copy of meta grid which I am using to create buttons for actions, these are assigned to midi notes.

I do this a lot. Just change which midi channel your keyboard sends.
If you look at the action list for your keyboard actions, the midi channel is listed for each. Mine are all channel 1.

So if you set your keyboard to send on any other channel, the actions are not triggered.

Yeah seems like a feasible workaround, though the actual solution is to allow us to set a device for the actions.
