Default Various Boutique-Strips for LBX Stripper

Hi, I built a few strips of various boutique plugins for the LBX Stripper script.
More will come soon.

You can download the strips HERE.

More strips and instructions for installation and use can be found HERE !

The E27 strip still needs some work because the parameter link does not work as expected.
I will wrap my head around it tomorrow

I have completely rebuilt the E27 strip.
the parameter link of the plugin does not work when parameters are remote controlled.
so i implemented the parameter link completely by macro.
if you use my E27 strip, the parameter-link in the plugin MUST be disabled!

The SSL Strips have received an update.
New classic SSL Gain Reduction Meter and all LEDs have been replaced with new "more realistic" ones.

The -20db LED is a little bit wonky.
I'm sorry. But I told you, it's "realistic"

Great work - like the wonky -20dB led lol!

Sadly most of my goto compressors don't implement the GR API (MJUC, Manic Compressor, Supercharger GT, A25, SmartComp, Acustica Aquas).

I found a few that do though - Fuse Audio/Black Rooster VLA-2A, VLA-3A, VCL-25A

Unfortunately, it's similar for me. Use a lot of IK and PSP stuff. Both don't use this api. :/

The GR of these plugin manufacturers work:
- brainworx
- fabfilter

Nice! - not sure I have that one - nope only their PEX-500 EQ.

So it seems most PA compressors have it - I have Vertigo VSC-2 which works - although the reported values differ massively from the plugin meter - lol! So either it was a half-hearted attempt at adding the GR API, or their plugin meter is badly calibrated.

Saying that most PA comps have it - Elysia Alpha Comp doesn't - but that's pretty old now - and also features 2 separate GR meters - so I guess would not be easily compatible.

Hmm... it's not rare that - especially with vintage analog emulations - the GR meters of some plugins are a bit off.

Something like: in the plugin compressor a GR of ~3db is displayed, while the actual "real" GR is rather 6-7db.
Peak vs average...

No problem. As long as the meters are fidgeting and look good...

It may be the case then that the GR API value is actually more accurate. But really - not sure why there's any difference - from a coding perspective - all it needs to do is convert whatever meter value they are using for the internal meter into a dB gain reduction - and there shouldn't really be any difference between values assuming they are using the correct conversion formula. It's pretty straightforward to calculate GR between before the compressor section and after it - (assuming no saturation or other non-linearities are introduced at that point - maybe this is the problem with vintage emus).

What I like - in this context - about the lindell plugins is that they provide control parameters for input- and output-level, as well as comp-gr and gate-gr. Really exemplary!
Is this also the case with the PEX-500?

Thank you! Noticed an issue with a name:

How it can be solved?

The name is too long to be displayed completely in the switcher.
Therefore the name is also in the strip headline.
You can rename the strip if it bothers you.
Edit the strip and save it under a new name.

@Zeno

Congratulations for the remarkable work.

You seem to have reached a proficiency in LBX Stripper.

Have you ever thought about creating a detailed manual/wiki for common users so that they can master the script as well?

That would be a huge contribution.

Thanks!

Thanks for the compliment.

No not really, I'm just familiar with a fraction of what is possible with this script!

I already spend a lot of my spare time to build these strips, so there would be no time for setting up a wiki.
But there were already considerations about a wiki:

I don't know what the current status is.

Of course everyone is free to look at the structure of the strips in edit mode and learn from it.
In the end, it is not important to know all the functions, but to use those you know creatively.
Having a concept, as well as some experience with Knobman, can't hurt either

greetings
