MOD Tracker Operartional View

It would be awesome to be able to open Amiga MOD files in Reaper and have a view with notes scrollin in vertical tracker style?

I believe Reaper can become the one to unify these two worlds

I suspect, but I have no evidence, that the dev team has done some work on this, at least for opening mod-files in Reaper. I would love to just be able to open xm/mod files and mix the tracks in Reaper.

but it isn't a mod editor? can it open mod files and play ssmples?

Hackey Trackey edits midi items.

Importing MOD, XM and IT files(the most popular formats) shouldn't be a huge deal, since they're completely open and there are even libraries to open them.

Just a matter of when they might get around to it. Perhaps there is already a mod/xm/it->midi converter around. The samples is of course the crux.
