Default Free Metal MIDI Drum Grooves

A few days ago, I asked around if there was a free metal drum groove library. The answer seemed to be no, so I've put together a quick website to freely share metal drum grooves to the community.

If you'd like to contribute, there is a page to upload, with you listed as the author. I'll move them to the correct categories. I am still uploading my own grooves. Feedback is welcome.

That's actually a really neat idea. There don't seem to be a lot of MIDI file websites anymore.

Maybe you might also want to make a page for MIDI basslines, perhaps even MIDI guitar riffs (since a lot of music producers use virtual guitars like RealLPC, RealStrat, etc) ?

I'll gladly contribute, I'm just curious how you decided upon the suggested key map? Do you have any preference as far as number of bars?

Maybe in the future - I just want to see if this one takes off at all. As of today, no one else has contributed - and that won't stop me adding my own stuff, but it would be good to see content from others.

That would be great. There is a MIDI map on the page (https://sites.google.com/view/metal-midi/midi-map).
As for bars, I usually do about 3 and then individual fill-ins. This is modeled after the MT Power Drum Kit groove library.

I'm working on setting up a template so I should have some files to upload after I finish testing it out in a day or two.

I'm thinking of contributing of a series of various blast beats MIDI files:

i.e.; a 1 or 2 measure midi file of
- traditional blast
- Euro-blast
- Suffo-blast
- Hoglan blast
etc.

Something like that, just to showcase the various different types of blasts.

And maybe thrash beats, the Motorhead or "D-Beat", double kicks, etc.

Sounds awesome man! You know how to upload? It's just a Google Drive folder - PM me when you've uploaded and I'll double check them and put them in the right folders.

Haven't gotten around to exporting my MIDI drum tracks yet - sorry guys. Winter weekends are busy with family stuff.

01/12/2018 - I uploaded a folder with a bunch of metal and blast beat variations last night.

there's also this one:

Freebie Loudstakk MIDI Pack
https://loudstakk.com/pages/free

- Fast Grooves, Midtempo Grooves, Slow Grooves
- Death Metal, Doom, Black Metal*
- 26 Grooves with Fills
- Grooves Performed by Ron D. Rock
- Mapped for EzDrummer/Superior Drummer
- Please note: This product contains .mid files only, no samples or plugins are included

"The concept for the MIDI Groove Pack stemmed from my personal experiences and creative vision. I've always had a clear idea of how the drums should sound in my songs, which sometimes led to overwhelming drummers with a multitude of ideas. When I write songs, I prefer to maintain a focused workflow without constantly switching between the guitar and the drum kit. Having a deep understanding of how I want the drum parts to be, including specific elements like back beats, breakdowns, and blast beats, I decided to simplify my own process and create a comprehensive library of go-to grooves.

For songwriters seeking to streamline their process and place a greater emphasis on crafting the actual song or riffs, I highly recommend considering Loudstakk MIDI Grooves. By utilizing these resources, you can significantly reduce the time spent on programming and instead channel your energy into the creative aspects of your music.”
- Ron D. Rock (Loudstakk)

Loudstakk FREE Pack: The Free MIDI Pack is now available for download at
https://loudstakk.com/pages/free. Free Pack features 3 Groove sections featuring Death Metal Hammer Blast, Black Metal Up Beat and Doom Metal Slow Groove.

"Loudstakk MIDI Grooves provide the right amount of dynamics to make them sound more natural. Most other packs I've tried leave very small amount of dynamics.
While on the road - I like to load these MIDI Grooves into my session knowing they will satisfy my taste when composing"
-Vanik (Midnight)

“Truly inspiring drumbeats.
I actually started a new band as soon as I tried them out in my DAW”
-Mika Lagren (Grave)
