Mystery fade in after rendering track

Me and a friend is trying to solve a mystery. He has been working on a song
with the virtual midi keyboard. All key presses are set at full velocity,
but after we render the track for some reason there is a fade in we can't
track down.

The only FX that is enabled at the moment is the MIDI plugin he uses
"Personal Orchestra 5 (Garritan)". Anyone that has any idea where this
fade in might come from?

Does the newly rendered item have a fade in?

Some settings to check in general:

- The Fade (in/out) settings in the Item > Item Properties menu

- Preferences > Audio: Tiny fade in on playback start

- Preferences > Project > Media Item Defaults: Create automatic fade-in/fade-out for new items

I've encountered this and wrote about it elsewhere. As a workaround if still needed- use the spacebar to stop playback, and let the decay play until it ends. Then hit home or rewind, and then render or playback.
