Default Delete Time Selection - is this possible? :-s

Hay all :-)

It seems very easy to Insert --> Empty Space At Time Selection to add an empty space with the time of the time selection and have it placed at its start but I can't find a way to time-select an area and remove that time from the project.

Any help would be greatly appreciated cheers :-)

This action?

Time selection: Remove contents of time selection (moving later items)

The advantage of that action is that you don't have to first select all items in Arrange.

But, If OP just wants to delete the area falling into Time Selection without moving later items, there even seems to be no native way to do that in Reaper.

Ideally there should be be an Action for that case : "Time selection: Remove contents of time selection"
But that doesn't exist.

Therefore, i made a custom action:

So this Action will delete the area falling into Time Selection, without moving later items and without the need to first having to select all items in Arrange.

Maybe there are easier ways to accomplish this, dunno ATM.

There's an action Item: Cut selected area of items. It will cut all the items within the time selection if no specific items are selected and just the selected ones if there are any.

Really weird "remove area in time selection regardless of item selection" wasn't built in.

Thanks for the custom action tip, vanhaze!

I call it "Remove selected area on selected track(s)".
