Default License for pre-release versions

Hello,

I am still using Reaper 6.x because my license due and I cannot afford a new license at this moment (even the super inexpensive discounted one).

Can I use the development version (the ones you can download from 'land of elite') and use it legally with no license? Or development version are also under the same license terms than commercial versions?

Just to clarify, I am not looking to circumvent this amazing software license. I know that the license structure is the most fair in all industry, but at this moment I am not able to buy it, so I want to check if I am legally allowed to use in the development version until I sort our my financial issues.

Regards,

That is what I am doing now but I would like to test the new functions of Reaper 7, that is why I am asking.

I read it but I've not found anything related to development version of Reaper. Perhaps my English skills are not good enough to fully understand the EULA.

I think the answer is Yes.

By the way you can use the evaluation mode

I know but I guess I can use the evaluation mode only for 60 days.

Actually, you can use the evaluation mode forever. There will be a 5 second nag screen on startup, but the software will function fully. I would never recommend overstaying the prescribed evaluation period, but it is possible.

I think you are wrong. Even if there is no lock in Reaper usage beyond 60 days for comercial version, under the EULA you should no use it beyond that time if you don't have a license.

Thanks for asking. Prerelease versions of REAPER 7.x are licensed the same way as released versions.
