Default Save new version/save as

Hi... A bit of an old query i guees, and i will make a test project. However, it would help my confidence if the theory/practice supports what i will do.
Scenario: i saved two new versions of project.._1 & _2.
I now want to use 'Save as' and give a new name.
If i do this, will i get, in my.rrp folder:
Original file)name, _1, _2, my newly named file?
Can i then modify the new (save as) file independently of the others?
Thanks in advance for any replies.
Regards
Steve

Yes, just matter of fact like it looks.
There isn't any cryptic behind the scenes link between .rpp project files.

You can open your multiple versions of projects (or any projects) in tabs and cut/paste between then as you p[lease as well.

No behind the scenes weirdness. Reaper does what you tell it.
