Reaper UI locks up when saving a project

This is an annoying problem. When Reaper is saving a project, the UI locks up during that time. When it's set to autosave every x minutes and using a large project (50-100MB RPP files), the display is frozen for 5-10 seconds until the save is complete, and that's with NVMe SSD. Sound is fine, but everything on screen freezes (meters, time, controls, everything). Then it quickly catches up what you tried to click on (often in wrong places) when it did its thing.

Can this please be fixed? Run the save routine in the background, in a different thread, etc., so it doesn't lock up the damn screen. It's very annoying.

I totally agree. It would be really awesome if this could be improved as you suggest.
