Reainsert shit show [SOLVED - NOT BUG]
(solved, not a bug)
When used into custom actions, reainsert will make it bug one time out of three/four.
copy, paste, paste an fx chain that contains a Reainsert, EVEN in offline mode and there is a very good chance Reaper crashes.
Bug or feature ??? Hmmm Bug I think right ?
So Now I moved away from Reainsert. It was everywhere in my default project, and was a big part of my workflow, but I had too many crashes when executing cycles/custom actions where a Reainsert could be impacted. I have a much stable Reaper now. This is a shame, because having a hardware insert point inside an fx chain is really a neat and necessary feature for hybrid setups like mine. But I just just can't take it no more (the constant crashes).
So yeah, BUG REPORT
!

Hi you have not given the DEV'S any information on your OS computer or anything they will need more details to investigate.

Sorry, so I'm on the latest official Reaper release, latest W10. Soundcard is Lynx Aurora (n) TB , audio driver is the asio driver for this soundcard. I work exclusively at 96. The Reainsert instances that I try to manipulate, they already have INPUT connexions set up so that they receive audio from some soundcard inputs. I think this is where it gets tricky for Reaper. Reainsert has direct access to the soundcard, it must be complex to make it work.
Again, inside cycle action, to try to manipulate a reainsert (copy, cut, paste, put offline, online, bypass, unbypass, call it via an FX chain) will result in crashes. Sometimes the action is executed fine, but at some point, it inevitably crashes.

Well It turns out I AM the shitshow. Nothing wrong with Reainsert, it was a plugin that I use a lot that was buggy (latest version of CTRLR is not the most stable it seems).

Could you, add [SOLVED - NOT A BUG] to the end of the thread title, please?

To edit thread title click the "Edit" button in the first post, then "Go Advanced" button, and there you can add [SOLVED - NOT BUG] to the end of the title.
