Default bak (back-up) confusion

Hello. I don't seem to get how to make REAPER move (or save) rpp-bak files to a dedicated subfolder (which should be located in the project folder).
The closest thing I've found is the line:
(in Preferences - Project - Project saving)
Save to timestamped file in additional directory (Browse).
What syntax should I use to lead it to a subdirectory (named 'bak') of a current project (to type in a relative path)?
And I'm not sure I need such files to be timestamped...
The goal is to clean up the project directory by automatically moving (or saving) all the rpp-bak files (for this project) to a dedicated subfolder.

You can use backslash for subfolder relative to project directory, so in your case \bak

Thanks. Have given it a try.
Saved a project as
REAPER bak to subfolder .
And yes, REAPER created a subfolder named 'bak' and a file in it —
REAPER bak to subfolder-date_time.rpp-bak
But
REAPER created a file
REAPER bak to subfolder.RPP-bak
in the project folder as well.
And it's not going anywhere (eg. to the bak subfolder).

I guess this thread does belong here,
in this dedicated subforum...

Going to \bak only works for auto saved backup files, if you manually overwrite the project (Ctrl+S) the previous version which gets renamed to .rpp-bak if you have set so does indeed go into project folder instead and not the \bak folder.

+1 for changing this (optionally)
