Default MIDI controller pain

Hi

I use my synth keyboard as a midi controller. The midi assignments linked to my Reaper template only feature under a single preset on the synth. Other presets do not have the midi assignments.

The problem is, when I either select that preset on my synth, or move away from that preset on my synth, unwanted control messages are sent to Reaper and settings get muddled up.

For example, one knob on my synth controls pan. Whenever I select another synth preset from the midi preset the pan settings on the active track are changed.
Example 2, when I select the midi preset on my synth, ON messages for a particular message are always sent to Reaper unwantedly.

Is there anything in Reaper settings that may help my cause so that when I move to and from the midi preset on my synth, uncalled for midi messages are not sent to Reaper?

This is pretty normal for example the Acuna88 sends a default msg on preset change.

One solution is to mute all tracks before changing your preset then unmute. They won't receive MIDI this way.

Thanks. Yeah I figured it wasn't too abnormal, just wanted a workaround.

I'll see how I go with muting the tracks.
