Default Fx button in TCP preventing playback head in Melodyne as Item Fx

I'm getting deja vu writing this, so apologies if this has been discussed before.

I'm finding that when the Insert Fx button is disabled in the TCP for a track (i.e. the button is red) it prevents the playback cursor head in a Melodyne "Item FX" instance from moving (though it still moves as normal in the main Reaper window, and the Melodyne edits are still applied to the audio). My understanding is this button is meant to only affect Track Fx, but not Item Fx, but in this case it is messing up an Item Fx instance (at least in terms of usability).

I'm also getting the attached error message popping up occasionally. Maybe its because I'm compiling vocal harmony parts from multiple takes, and there are items from the same WAV file spread across more than one track.

I'm using Melodyne 4.2.4 as VST3, on Reaper 6.03 (I will test with 6.08 as soon as I've finished my current mix) on Mac OS 10.14.6

Thanks muchly.
