Default Select all items from a given point until end of track?

Hi,

So I'm currently editing a project where I have to do literally hundreds of splits in the tracks. Sometimes when listening back, I find that I have to correct the trimming on one item lets say in the middle of the track. So after trimming it, I now have to bring back all items after it or else there'll be a gap.

What I am doing now is to zoom out and select all the following items until the end with the shift key. The problem is that I have to zoom out to a point where it's easy to not select everything correctly (since the items are barely visible) and mess something up. Given how flexible reaper is, I'm sure there must be an easier way!

Any tips?

Thanks

If you are going to just move all the right-most items anyway, then turning on Ripple Editing for all tracks might take care of this for you - aka you move the one item and any item on any track that is to the right moves with it.

Otherwise, it can be done with a script but you may have to install/setup "ReaPack" to do it.

There may be a built-in action that does similar but couldn't find it.

Here's a custom action that might work for you...

There are also SWS actions Xenakios/SWS: Select items to end of track and the opposite Xenakios/SWS: Select items to start of track. Given that you have just done the split or otherwise have an item selection, these actions will select the rest, starting from that selection.

Maybe try out attached Custom Action I made for you, for even faster workflow.
Import it to your Reaper Action List and assign it to a shortkey.

Workflow:

- Set Edit Cursor to the point in an Item where you want it to be right-trimmed.
- Hit the shortkey
- Outcome:
The Item right edge will be trimmed to Edit Cursor and all following Items on that
Track will be moved proportionally to the left.

Advantage:
With this method, you don't even have to do left mouse dragging to do the right-trim.

Sidenote: Would be cool if there was a mousemodifier action "trim item edge with Ripple"
