I'm not a big fan of the flat gray, but I get the idea - very non-distracting. Nice job!
My first though is that, like the mixer tracks, the arrange tracks could use a darker and thicker line between each other to pop out a bit more, they sorta elide into eachother at the moment.

I've made the tcp borders the same as mcp, looks good. I will collect these updates and throw out a major update in a while.

Nice work, great color for viewing an LCD at different angles.
MCP is really clean and strictly meat and potatoes.

Is there any chance you could change the mixer (or throw in an extra layout) so that I can see the FX without having to expand the mixer quite so much? I dock the mixer at the bottom of the screen and with this theme I have to pull the resize line up about two thirds of my screen to see any effects, which seems like it shouldn't happen in a theme made of clear rectangles.
Also: the lack of a clear edge on notes in the midi editor looked really nice at first, but then I found it hard to distinguish where consecutive notes began and ended. You're also missing a lot of button icons I'm used to using, which is no big deal, but it's a bit annoying to adapt to.
Besides that, it's a really nice theme. I really like the crisp, clear media items. I can see so much more clearly now.

Hallo Gates of Horn & Ivory, thanks for your suggestions.

Good point, I've made some unobtrusive borders for the Midi events. It looks quite nice.

Have you tried FX or Narrow layout? I understand what you mean, but not fully. Maybe it would be useful to take an existing layout and turn it upside down, FX on bottom and controls on top.

The FX layout works well for the FX chain, but not being able to adjust volumes/muting/etc would be a pain. The narrow layout doesn't seem to change anything about where the FX appears as far as I can see? A "short" layout would be better, heh. Something with the same minimum height for the mixer as the default theme.

I use a lot of the ones that come with RADO VOX Light (although I've seen them in a few other themes too). It includes icons for buttons that change item colours, new icons for actions like show/hide item properties which don't exist in the default icon set, and a few useful generic things like arrows.

first of all, i never knew there was a 'width' knob on tracks!
the icons are a little cryptic at first, but thanks to info boxes that popup, i can know what they stand for. i'd choose to use 'standard' icons if possible, but thats just personal.
second, here's a little nitpick, for those who may use irregular bpm in their project:
the bpm area should be big enough to hold all the numerical places, not sure but i think its 6 or 7 spaces.

I like it very much too, BUT make the Master track visible in the TCP and NO ENVELOPE button is available for it? If you want to make the playrate or tempo envelope visible you have to change theme first...
Also I would like the track layout overall to have horizontal meters instead of small vertical ones that are barely useable at all when tracks are small or minimized.
Can this be updated pls ?

is there a way to make all the icons light up into that pretty greenish blue color. or turn off the greenish blue completely for uniformity. both ways i want to know. a header/loading logo would be great too.

If I get you right you want all the toolbar icons in the same color? But there are some buttons that light up when they are in on-state (like Metronome) while others perform an action when pressed (like Open Project) and don't have a pretty green face.
If you make them all same the color you won't see which buttons are in the on-state. But you could edit your toolbar and reorder the icons so that the action buttons are in one line and the state buttons in an other.

The Master out already has that but though that Audio Channel Mixer could benefit as well as option of course. Whenever possible
This update is great including the Track Seperator :-)

So I've been using this theme for about a month and it's basically perfect except the button for input monitoring doesn't have very obvious states. It's hard for me to tell which tracks are monitoring or not at a glance. Is there any chance the icon could incorporate some different colours? Or perhaps the icon image could change slightly. Just a thought.

This is a really fantastic theme! One issue for me, when an Item is selected, the waveform size changes slightly. Is there a way to change this? is it a preference that i'm missing? Otherwise, I absolutely love it.

Yeah, I kind of find this deceiving sometimes. In the preferences under Appearance --> Peaks/Waveforms the option "Draw edges on peaks" can be unchecked and the waveform won't change when selected.

Thanks for this theme Tom... It is indeed a clear one, and flat themes can be handy...
Most likely you aimed this for laptop users and other smallish screens?
One thing I'd like to see, for this theme and many others as well... is the ability that the default theme has to drag the slider part of the mcp taller.
I say this cuz I use the mcp as a 'track inspector' to the left of the tcp. ...and I am on large monitors... so when the fader-slider area of the mcp is limited to being not very tall, it leaves all the space above with sends, fx, param's, and only a very short fader... you see?
In the default theme one can drag the fader section as tall as desired and then save that as a track template to always load a new instance.. right?

Hey Hey !! Hello Tom and everybody !
Been working with the theme this week end and it went well! I like it.
Like Hopi suggested, a taller MCP would be great for big screen users (Sidebar or Big,etc.)
And like MotionMindz suggested, enveloppe on minimized TCP, and/or a very busy minimized TCP with everthing on it...I'm a TCP fan...:-)

I started using this theme a few days ago after using White Tie for a couple years. I really like it, but need to spend more time with it. I'm on two large monitors and have no problems with the mcp size yet. I kind of like how it stacks two rows of faders. The one feature that I don't like is the transport. I feel it's too small. I really like the Janne Universe transport. If I knew a way to combine them, that would be perfect. Great job, Tom.

Tom, how to change the font and background color of the numeric time display?
Its really too hard to read.
And could the background of the whole edit/arrange area be made somewhat lighter?
Also of selected tracks and waves to be edited..
Its too dark for my taste and it makes working a bit more tiresome.
I thank you already for your attention to fix these!

You're lucky, I'm almost done with an update and I'll post it later this week. It has a much bigger time display and lots of other bigger things.

Something is not the way it should be. On my machine the edit area looks like this:
I'd like to find out how it comes to look that dark on yours. I like the edit area pretty bright too. Maybe you could post a simple project with a dark edit area for me to debug?

Now that you mentioned it... in every theme setting - even the default one - the background remains as dark as ever on my Mac??
I do not understand as all other apps (like my Browser) have normal brighter backgrounds.
EDIT: The track backgrounds were set dark and I changed these and it worked. BUT: changing themes should update all this automatically, no?
