Default L-C-R Mixing

So. I was just wondering what is everyone thoughts on LCR mixing, where you only pan things center, or hard left or right?

I do this. It works if you are tracking with it in mind. If you really concentrate on mic placement where you are using 2 mics and using a stereo setup (drum overheads, acoustic instruments) it becomes really natural to mix everything LCR.
If your snare drum isn't really in the center of your stereo overhead image, just throw LCR out the window and do what ever works. If you track a lot in Mid-Side like I do, you can manipulate the stereo image of individual sources very easily.

Similar concept, but with 'mono' sources like background vocals and electric guitar, where I am doubling or multi tracking parts - I'll go ahead and monitor while I'm tracking with things panned hard So that I'm sure it works how I want it to.
