I do not have a Mac, so I can't help you with that. You could ask on stackoverflow.com Lot of experts on there who know much more than I do.

I've created more drumpatterns. Took me a whole weekend to program these.

New drumpattern map: https://stash.reaper.fm/31972/drumpatterns.json

The json file can be placed inside the ReaChorder folder, and it will automatically update ReaChorder with the new drum map. Or if you have your own software, you can parse the json file and enjoy these carefully crafted patterns.

Basic Pattern
Funky Beat
Peach Beat
Levee Breaks
Cold Feet
Green Grass
Foot Rider
Trap Door
Dubstep Beat
Drum n Bass Beat
Jungle Beat
Deep House Beat
Hiphop Beat
Broken Beat
New Wave Beat
Chop Garage
Techno Star
Berlin Techie
Techno Viking

Am I looking in the wrong place here, because I can only load .lua and.eel scripts through the Actions window?

If I select all files and then d-click on ReaChorder.py I get the following error message: "No supported script files could be loaded."

REAPER sees that I have Python installed. Does it need to be the 64bit version of python to work with 64bit REAPER?

If it can't load a Python script, it is probably because reaper cannot find the DLL.

See: https://forums.cockos.com/showthread.php?p=1314720

Here is my settings. Sometimes, you need to copy the python34.dll from C:\Python34 to the folder: C:\Windows\System32 Or, the other way around! Sometimes when you copy it from System32 back to C:\python34 it will work too. Simply locate the Python34.dll and point to it in this preference window.

It takes some time, but it's worth it as you never have to do this again once it's installed. I wish Reaper would search for it itself, it would makes thing much easier. But things are as they are. So if you follow the above settings, it should probably work.

It's not hard, it just takes some patience. Like most things

A script can be loaded in two ways:

Thanks for the reply.

I've done way too much installing copy/pasting dll's here and there and still no dice. I mean, REAPER tells me python is installed just fine, but nope.

I remember having this same headache the last time I tried to get python working. Think I'm done now :/

I read a few pages back that you were considering "packaging" python as part of the script/addon. Even though this would make it quite a large file (although with broadband it's not a big deal) I think it might be something worth considering.

Thanks again

Last time I remember, I spend a whole day getting Python to work. Then I switch to Win 10 and it worked by default. I can't help you with installing Python.

Those who persist will win.

Currently working on better Melody generation in ReaChorder. Which is the most difficult part.

New example:

https://stash.reaper.fm/32336/BetterMelody.mp3

Everything was created by ReaChorder, except for a few minor edits.

Very small update: https://stash.reaper.fm/31944/ReaChorder.zip

don't forget to use your own drumpatterns.json, if you changed it. The above zip has the default set.

Changes:

+ Layout adjustment
+ Draw MIDI Button is now visible on all tabs
+ Somewhat better melody generation, not complete yet.
- Code cleanup.

Upcoming changes:

* Guitar Chords Tab integration
* Better control over the 1st and 2nd chord inversions (Less random, less jumping)
* Chord left-hand patterns (ballad etc)
* (even) better melody generation: Markov chain prediction.
* Melody phrasing option.
* Syllable count option.

I would go for the 6th option in that list. x86-64 windows executable.

Also, check out: https://www.activestate.com/activepython/downloads

Here's also a nice tutorial:
https://www.howtogeek.com/197947/how...on-on-windows/

It works different on all platforms, and since I haven't got the resources to test and build it on every OS, I can't help out much with that. It isn't that difficult, but it does require some attention and focus to get it right. But, once installed it will run forever.

As said, I recommended Python 3.3 at a minimum.

NEW REACHORDER THREAD:

ReaChorder Extension - Part II: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?p=1919076

Please use the new thread.

I'm especially excited about the upcoming Guitar Chords integration. Merci Flaneurette!

I know this is old but for anyone else having this issue (im on windows 64) here is what worked for me. Extensions sws_python sws_python64 must be in the ReaChorder folder. Mine were in C/users/you?/AppData/Roaming/REAPER/Scripts ,just moved them to C/users/you?/AppData/Roaming/REAPER/Scripts/ReaChorder .For mac users must be the same location as thread.
