Loved his goofy personality on the show but in reality he was an intelligent, highly skilled musician, songwriter and actor. Sad to see those I grew up with leaving us.
Great band indeed. It is said but at the same time that is life... and death. Natural cycle.
Recently I've been digging music from the '40s '50s and the '60s.
Priceless music!
And the Drifters are comming to my town here in UK in Arpil 2019.
No autotunes, no overcompression, just pure authentic music.

Grin - WHICH Drifters? In my years as a wandering musician I have worked on the same bill as at least three versions of the Drifters, all claiming to be "the real thing" & as far as I can recall none of them having more than one of the official members! But - they were all pretty damn good. Have fun.

Hehe, I did a brief tour as the drummer for the Drifters in 1975. Was going to do another short one with the Coasters, but it fell through. I still have the album that DeVille Records in Hollywood California sent me for my band to learn all their hits and back them up.
