Default Nothing But REAPER

It was said in the main group that REAPER for Linux wasn't usable, because Windows plugins aren't natively supported for it. That put me on a quest to write something that used only REAPER for Linux and only use the native plugins that come with it.

Default Is there some sort of like button?

Because that is great work!

You've demonstrated something important.

Don't get me wrong, I like plugins and there are some that aren't included in reaper that are really awesome. BUT ...

... if you think about it, for plain old music, all you need in a DAW are functions like EQ, Limiting, Reverb and Compression. These four things, if you know what you are doing, produced every single hit record since the beginning of records until the end of the 70's anyway.

And those four things all come (in spades) with reaper.

Thanks man! That is exactly the point I was trying to get across.

Too many people have said to me that they could never use REAPER for Linux until they can run some Windows plugin that they think they can't live without, so I recorded this and specifically did not use any of the Windows plugins that I have working just fine running in WINE and being bridged using LinVST, to illustrate the point.

Thanks guys.

I'm finding Linux to be quite usable for recording in REAPER. I just put a another new one up on my main page called "Road Trip" that was all done in Linux, but used a few bridged Windows plugins this time.

Thanks Not_Here and Peevy!

This one was just added, using REAPER for Linux, but with a few Windows plugins running in WINE. Plus a mandolin and banjo.

This track I have done in Reaper for The Challenge FM Synthesizers mainly with stock Reaper plugins, except the synths.

The arrangement and the song is great, but IMO the sound pattern feels quite thin and wide in the stereo field. I'm missing the lower frequencies and there is a gap in the mono range. Maybe this is on purpose?
