Default Korg Nanopad 2 / Ez Drummer 2

Do we know if the NanoPAD2 works with EZ Drummer2 either inside Reaper or when using the stand alone version.

I'm assuming you're referring to a MIDI controller like the Akai LPD8 or Korg Nanopad 2, right?

In general, any MIDI controller should work with EZ Drummer 2 (standalone or as plugin inside Reaper). It's basically mainly a question of mapping/matching the MIDI controller pads to the drums: this is done either via a MIDI mapping/MIDI learn option in the software/plugin or by adjusting the MIDI parameters on the MIDI controller itself.

Yes thanks Solger, I meant Korg and not AKai!

EZ Drummer does not support MIDI learning, there are pre-defined maps for e-drums. Fortunately both controllers have editors, so you can assign required MIDI messages.

How good you will be able to play drums that way is a different question. If you have a possibility, test both. F.e. Akai pads (and keys) are relatively "hard". Some people like that, some people do not.
Depending from what you want to play, there can be insufficient number of "hits" (each kit peace support several different hits, just HiHat has 12+). You can consider something with keys (f.e. MPK Mini) to be on safe side.

Download the Korg Nano editor & you should be able to tweak it up to do what you want. FYI there are several drum key maps already available in the reaper stash that may help.
