Sadly, it's not possible to color whole track panels : I made them like this as fully opaque precisely to avoid it, using the new Reaper 5 coloring scheme that allows it, as I basically don't like the kaleidoscopic view that colored panels bring. If you want to go further, you'll have to to edit all the occurences of the following files present in the images subfolder :
mcp_bg.png
mcp_bgsel.png
tcp_bg.png
tcp_bgsel.png
Each occurence should then be set with a more or less transparent background to retrieve the Reaper 4.xx coloring behavior. It will probably take you some time, doing this.
