Default Melodyne and spectral edits

I recorded a vocal that needed some spectral edits to remove plosives (I sometimes use EQ automation for this but prefer using spectral edits since I can tweak visually) and also a bit of pitch correction. I did the spectral edits first, and then added Melodyne (as the first FX in the chain), and noticed that it had bypassed my spectral edits as the p-pops were back. So I went back to spectral editing and tried redoing the edits but they don't seem to do anything now.

What do I need to do to enable spectral edits when an item has Melodyne pitch correction? Do I need to freeze the FX first?

Thanks for any advice.

No, you need to glue first!

That doesn't make sense to me; I have zero splits in my track; it's just one item in the track.

glue renders selected items consolidating effects to a new item, its not only healing splits.

Reaper docs 7.27 f i.

Ah, got it, thanks! I'll give it a try. In the meantime I went back to my old way of dealing with plosives, using EQ automation, and that worked fine.
