Default Articulation on MIDI + Kontakt

Hi guys, I was watching this video

https://youtu.be/PvQ56IUu8Bg?t=186

right in the 03:06 minutes he started to change the articulation of the guitar from Power Chord Sustain to Power Chord Mute just by changing something in the notes (I think is Logic Pro). Can I do this on Reaper? I mean, without using the corresponding keynotes (inside this library of Kontakt) that changes the articulation?

Yeah man, Reaper does not have built in articulation mapping (which is what I think you are looking for), but there are a couple of 3rd party plugins that can do this

Reaticulate:

http://reaticulate.com/

BSFO Articulate for Reaper

https://www.syntheticorchestra.com/articulatereaper/

Basically these work by internally changing the channel the note is played on, and mapping those channels to specific keyswitch notes. The big benefit is that the articulation is triggered by the actual note, so you don't have to activate the keyswitch is before the note plays.

I use this with orchestral music and it makes things so much easier than trying to keep up with keyswitches.

Thanks, this is a good tool to have in mind. But I think that getting a full understand on how Reaticulate works is way harder then use the keynotes. The tutorial on youtube use a preset Factory Bank and shows you the script. Is there a tutorial on how to create a script from scratch for another Kontakt library?

That I can't say. I use BSFO Articulate instead, it's a little easier to use and has a simple GUI for building your own expression maps (which Reaticulate doesn't have, you have to build by hand with a text editor).
