Now that my senses have returned somewhat the dodgy notes of that gtr solo seem obvious, will fix in the morning. Maybe a bit more weirdness in gtr fx needed as well?

Raw with both rendered and midi tracks. 16 bit is fine. Also include the reaper mix file so the next person can keep what they like and make changes going forward.

Another attempt to knock this gtr solo into shape, if it ends up on the scrapheap there'll be some use for it somewhere, sometime, in the meantime I can improve it.
Anyone and everyone interested in this project please feel free to bash this gtr solo so I can get a consensus on what works in others opinions.

I liked the solo, it's coming there! Was not too crazy about the first notes, a bit bland, I'd say... and I like fx, don't be shy.
edit - begin with a bang, raw, mysterious...!

Thanks bw. I was just about to give us the week-end free. Cosmic got family visit, he's still on, really makes me glad. And I'm a bit wasted, so... See you next week? Love, all.

So: I translated the lyrics to swedish, bumped up the tempo to 64 bpm, practiced a bit, sounds a lot better now, I think.
Strange - I had a listen to the latest version the other day, played for neighbors and friends, felt good and proud about it... now, today, I feel different. Tried to listen, but no. Too unrehearsed. But what can you do? You simply must record songs to show around. I digress...
Two versions there is, then, speaking of languages. I'll soon put something up. Morgan, you're the hero.

Bpm 66, so it's faster than the original 62 bpm... a few cuts... yeah, in swedish... what do you think? Better? Worse?

You think those business guys can have my gold? Man, I got it all stashed away, hohoho... suckers will never get to it...
But know a sound advice when I hear one.
One time I overwrote a partition on my hd by mistake, lost at least five years of recording. When I finally realized it was gone, I took a breath, and decided not to think about it too much...

Andy, I do those files for you with great thanks... you are not forgotten.
oh, forgot to ask, what is the reaper mix file?
update: here's a little something for you, a zip around 60mb:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/efg89q1ca8...eAndy.zip?dl=0
I included tempo map, it should say 66 bpm.
Midi and raw audio. I might have messed around with the sound in Kontakt, but not much.
For now, no vocals, no guitars, only a fake electric...
But this should get you going. Let me know how it works out, or if there are any errors in the files etc.

It's a start, but the MIDI electric piano track is the same as the MIDI Drum Track.

I think it's a crack up when this happens, and you end up with the damned-est drum track, you've ever heard.

It's the piano track that is the drum track in this case, so it is pretty out there.

Hello Andy,
this one should be okay. I put the rpf in there too, hope it helps.
Now, audio... seems we have to do with my programming, when it comes to drums, bass, keyboards. No volunteers yet.
And I'm practicing my part. Please don't put away more important stuff, just to work on this one. I'll keep a slow, steady pace for this project.
Still looking for a synth wizard who could provide some far out effects and sounds.

If there's a file, send it over! But a slow steady pace...
Listened. I love the effect. I love it. I'd love to have that sound from start to finish in the song. You game? Anybody can play my changes, but not every guitarist can relate to, and I'm serious now, a major scale. Everybody got the blues, god help me... I hire you, have you no other offers...
Doesn't have to be (only)fills and stuff, but effects and spacy sounds... you think about it?
Oh please try the swedish one, it's a bit faster, 66 bpm...

Yeh I put it in the bunch of songs im working on so will post what I got sometime in next weeks, idk exactly what im gonna do, you must critique it hard and will be no offence taken here [offence is the enemy of creativity beside schedules as Garrick said] so no offence here will be taken whatsoever, that way we will give this song the good treatment it deserves.

No, no, no, don't be sorry... and I almost wished for it now, when some time have passed and I've tried out a few vocal things myself... Initial enthusiasm, then reality kicks in, I get it totally. You liking the song was/is a kick for me. No sorrows.

It's tough to tell people how to play. And I have little experience in it. You're right about creativity, must be careful with that one. I'll do my best... and yeah, serve the song, that's what it's all about. I'm sure we get there. Thanks.

Here is my mix template:
Bowie Colab - Mix Setup
Nothing is mixed yet, it's just a little organization and a few new mix elements created from the original MIDI files for texture -The drums have been rendered out individually, there is a clock element added to the moog line as well as an additional Red Synth line. Other than that there is a Nylon gtr line that follows the supplied gtr MIDI file, again for texture as well as a low Rhodes sound that fattens the original bass track.
I still have problems with the electric piano, maybe the original instrument was transposed? Everything I try with the piano track is out of tune and transposing it hasn't seemed to fix it, so I haven't been able to do anything with that other than add a little rev to the original audio track.
The original vocal tracks would be a bonus as well, but at least it's a place to start.

You're right, I may have transposed it in Kontakt, lazy ass me. I can make a new one for you.
I'm downloading right now, but will listen tomorrow. Thanks!
