So i've extracted EyssinaAM.ReaperThemeZip, and in the created folder i've paste my icon with the name toolbar_mainEnlargeSeltrack.png, so it replaced the icon you've made.
Then i've zip again (right click on folder > send to > compressed folder) and I got a EyssinaAM.zip i've renamed in EyssinaAM.ReaperThemeZip and drag/drop into reaper main arrangement window.
Is that the right procedure ?
Seems alright to me, if you want to change only the pictogram of this icon while keeping its function which is, in this case, to launch the EnlargeSelTrack.lua script.

I feel more safe copying the modified .ReaperThemeZip file in the ColorThemes subfolder of my Reaper installation and relaunch it with the Options/Themes command, but well...

Default My first icon

Ok, so, here is my first icon. Not really incredible, but fit my needs. I use it to toggle between MIDI record mode replace and MIDI record mode Overdub.
Hope it can help someone.

Further to my reply in the old (!) thread, I just want to say again that I think this theme is great.

The one thing I have found so far which would be nice if I could tweak it, is the Track name Field - could it display a few more characters?

I have a TouchOSC template which hides/scrolls to sections of my template (I can have 100's of tracks in some instances), so the naming convention needs to stay in order for these to continue functioning. I can edit them, but if it is easier to adjust the Track name field, then I'd prefer to go down that route.

I realise this is a personal requirement and may not be an issue for others!

Thanks again - great work!

Hi again, Chris

I'm going to look more closely on that one. In an ideal world, how many characters would you like to be able to enter and/or be displayed ?

Thanks again.

Hi cubic.

I use Orchestral Template for Reaper (OTR) and I think the longest track name is "VI-C - Orchestral Percussion" so a long one it is fair to say!

I could probably truncate that to something like "VI-C - Orchestral Perc" or something like that and retain functionality.

Seriously good work. Love the fact you have made the toolbar and tcp icons look like Cubase, even if you have to run an Action to achieve those. Since I rely on those a lot, it's a minor thing but makes all the difference to me.

Fine. I just tested the themes with VI-C - Orchestral Perc as label. Seems that there are something like 27 pixels missing in Frema range of themes and 23 in Eyssina one. So, what I'm going to do is to increase the dimension of the tcp.label width of 30 pixels on both, this to bring them close to the Cubase default size which is 150 pixels, if I remember well. Can't do much more than that, as it would probably add more problems in the tcp panel management.

Let me few days for this, as I'll probably have to adjust the other controls behavior accordingly. Stay tuned...

Default v2.80 update is in the stash...

It's been a while... So, a new version of my Cubicpack2. In this one, I :

- increased the width of the tcp.label of 26 pixels in the Eyssina themes range and 29 pixels in the Frema ones (Chris Hurst request, post #44).
- made a new transport bar, less tight looking, and adjusted its behavior when put in the docker,
- adjusted the envcp panel behavior (well, as much as I could...),
- made also several display fixes and Walter adjustments here and there (tcp management, peaks color, rms clip...).

@Users of previous versions : only the .ReaperThemeZip files need an update. I also put all this in a new location (see the first post of this thread for the right link), as the stash is still unable to manage efficiently updates.

Let me know what could still need improvements...

Taking a little bit of time to thank you again for your themes.
And any criticism vs your themes (not you) is just to maybe get things a little better.
Having said that, I want to remind you I criticized your logic one, but
let me tell you that now I don't perceive what I criticized valid anymore,
because when I was using that theme (or any other) I was/am using a 55" 4k TV, but I realized after using my used to be main monitor (24" FHD only) and a Vizio 40" FHD Tv too, set to mode GAME or PC, stuff looked just AMAZING!
So I think it's not your fault your theme looked "jaggy" in a very few places, and that I guess it was made for 1920*1080 resolutions.

Crossing my fingers 4k support will come out soon.

PD My laptop doesn't have 4k support, so I guess that also works vs me when looks are very important (as in theme wise)

Thanks cubic for sharing your themes, bow to you.

Thanks, sightlessness...

OK, now I got why we weren't seeing the same thing with CLogic. So, I guess that every theme designed on "normal" monitors show more or less the same kind of quirks on 4k ones. I would have liked to cover this aspect with my themes but the support for 4k is partial and, more important, not fixed, AFAIK. Worse : even if everything was clear concerning the 4k support, I wouldn't be able to test what I make, as I don't have the appropriate device. So...

Thanks again !

Have tested the Frema theme and it appears that the levels are missing off the master and individual track meters. they are there on the earlier version of the theme.

The levels go up and down and display at the top of the meters, however the volumes are not on the tracks themselves (54, 48, 42, 36, 30 etc...)

Otherwise all looking good so far! Thanks once again.

Hi again, Chris

I guess that you are talking about the meter scales. To be honest, it's one of the adjustments I did : I got rid of them as I was having more and more the impression that they were going on the way, especially on the master track.

I'm about to go for few days. So, I don't have the time to look at this further but I will eventually give you a procedure to make them appear again, if you want, when I'll be back. Sorry for the inconvenience...

Default v 2.82 is in the stash...

A little update, on the request of a user, concerning the transport bar. So, in this one, I :
- centered the controls in the transport when docked in the main window.
- additionally adjusted again the minimal height of the mixer, for FM themes, to allow a correct display of it when a track icon is set.

To users of previous versions : only the .ReaperThemeFiles need an update.

Default Thanks ...

I just wanted to say thanks again Cubic , Your Themes are amazing !

even though Eyssina AM Dark is my everyday working Theme ,

i really enjoy your LOGIC one as well and the other ones ,

( i don't remember their names ) Really good work ,

very resting for the eyes and well organised too !

I'm not sure about the centered transport bar on the latest version of Cubendo ones ...

well it's a matter of taste and i might like that better after a while

Anyway congrats and thank you again for making Reaper an easier experience

to work with ! Best ,

Thierry.

@cubic13 : I'm trying to use the track:toggle lock/unlock track controls in reaper 5.62 and if I use default theme, I get an overlay with transparency that let me read track name when I lock track, with cubic theme, track besome completely grey and I can't read track name.

But, I need to read track name because of my hundreds of tracks (scoring template) so, is it a design choice ? How can I change this to have just a shadowed transparency on my track as the default theme does ?

@daevelwyn

A mistake on my end : I must admit that I forgot to check more closely this one before uploading the last update. The reason for this is that there is a setting wrongly positioned in the Theme development/tweaker window. So, to solve this :

1) Use Actions>Show actions list... command.
2) In the selector at the top of the window, type Theme.
3) Once done, you'll see that there is a Theme development: Show theme tweak/configuration window (#41930) action. Select it.
4) Click on the Run/close button in the bottom of the window.
5) Now, the Theme development/tweaker window should be displayed. Go a little down in all the settings list (the second screen), localize the Locked track control panel fill mode one and click on it.
6) In the little window displayed, change the Alpha value from 1 to 0 : the track panel will appear exactly as if there was no locking. You can set it at any value between 0 (full transparency) and 1 (full opacity) according to your own need.
7) Important : once correctly setted, do not forget to save it, using the Save theme... button, otherwise you'll have to readjust the setting at each use of the theme. By doing this, you actually create a .ReaperTheme file in the \MenuSets subfolder of your Reaper installation and the settings saved in it will always override the ones done in the corresponding .ReaperThemeZip theme file.

I'll probably have to make an update to definitely fix this one but, in the meantime, this should solve the issue.

Let me know how things are going...

Hi again, daeavalwyn

I'm preparing a new update for my CubicPacks in which there will be separators added, this, with few more fixes. Let me few days, as there are no less than 12 themes involved.

Stay tuned...

Well, I am theming...

More seriously, there are 3 Cubicpacks in the stash with 4 themes in each one, so... Fortunately, I maked them more or less similar in several aspects, through all their development history, but there are still few unavoidable things to check for each one and this takes time for each and every update.

Default CubicPacks v 2.90 are in the stash...

So, another update for all my Cubicpacks themes, in which I...

1) fixed the appearance of the track panels when the track controls are locked.
2) changed the envcp panel controls management in order for it to behave as the tcp one.
3) added four separator layouts : 1 for the tcp and 3 for the mixer : Large, Narrow and Thin (25 pixels). They are not perfect, especially in EyssinaAM themes, as I had to find a way to keep the extended mixer area empty and for this, I had to build the separators layouts with mcp.extmixer.mode set to 1, even for them.
4) fixed the background tint of the tcp track icon when a track is selected for Frema themes.
5) made few more tcp adjustments, involving mainly the tcp.fxparm control.

A reminder : these themes are designed to work with fader range set at -72/+6 dB and shape set to default (the preference settings are in the Appearance>Track Control Panels page). I have updated the joined PDF file to state this.

@users of previous versions : only the .ReaperThemeZip files require an update.

Hope this update will be useful for you, Cubicpack users...

Still love the theme.

As I now have a bit more theming experience, can you point me at the part in the rtconfig file so I can try and increase the length of the track name in the tcp? (tcp.label I think?).

Many thanks

Dear cubic13,

I noticed that when i draw a Time selection, all items in that Time selection become very "misty" / "vague" / "unsharp".

This has (if i recall correct) always been the case for me with these themes.
Is there something i can do about that myself ?

Yes it's the tcp.label control which is involved. The problem is that there is not much space left on either sides of it. It has already 140 pixels wide in Frema themes and 130 in Eyssina ones. So, trying to increase its size will only help you marginally, unless you want to move also the other tcp panel controls.

If so, be prepared for a nightmare : I already did this in the 2.80 update and it took me several hours to set the whole thing correctly, this, being the developer of these themes. Actually, each tcp control moves/appears more or less accordingly to the immediate precedent one, so, it's a can of worms. To be honest, I programmed the whole thing at a time when I didn't have the experience that I have now : if I had to rebuild the rtconfig.txt now, I would make it in a complete different way.

This said, what I would suggest before the Walter solution is to try using a smaller size of the font involved, or even changing the font itself. For the tcp.label, it's the WALTER font 3 one, changeable in the Theme development/Tweaker window. I just checked this for Frema themes by reducing the used Lao UI font size from 10 to 9 : there are nearly 9 pixels gained doing so and by changing it from Bold to Normal, 5 pixels.

I'm afraid that I can't help much more...

Strange, as the only thing happening here is that the background of the time selection appears brighten up. Could you post a screenshot showing the issue ? Maybe it would give me hints about what is happening. Just hope that this isn't an obscure Retina setting...

Well, even when magnifying the image to 400%, the only thing I see different is that the peaks have edges of different colors and this is normal, as it is the way Cubase shows the peaks when selected. So :

1) Could you try to uncheck, in the preferences, the Appearance>Peaks/Waveforms>Draw edges on peaks setting ? And see if this is better for you.

2) In the Theme development/Tweaker window, try to set the followings to more or less the same color :

Media item peaks edge highlight (odd tracks)
Media item peaks edge highlight (even tracks)
Media item peaks edge highlight when selected (odd tracks)
Media item peaks edge highlight when selected (even tracks)

There is indeed a little difference between the 3rd setting (RGB 210/210/210) and the 4th one (RGB 223/223/223) that shouldn't be there, I admit. So, try to set all these as wanted and save all this to create a new .ReaperTheme file.

Let me know how things go...

hey Van... in the theme tweaker... try setting the amount of alpha for the time selection overlay color to less... your screen shot looks like it is pretty high which makes the white-ish overlay very strong...
