I forgot to mention this in my previous post:
I've seen some posts on the forum (like this one https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=227573) about users having Reaper crashes/issues after updating to a more recent Reaper version.
Might perhaps also be something to double-check.

I can load the project the usual way - File -> Open project with no crasch.

Can you please give me the following details, so I can check these things on my end. Thanks.- Are these issues happening on your Windows or Linux install?
- On which Reaper version are you currently on?
- And which ReaLauncher version (most recent is 1.7.3)?

Its on my Windows 10 with Reaper 5.987/x64 and with ReaLauncher 1.7.3 now.

Also, I don't understand why under the 'projects' and 'projects lists' tabs, nothing is listed. Doesn't this launcher parse the project folders and automatically list RPP files? If not, how do I have my existing projects listed in ReaLauncher?
Thanks. Happy new year.

Hi and happy new year.
Looks like you don't have the SWS Extensions installed (which these two functions require).

By default, only the Recent Projects and the default Project Template and Track Template folders are listed.
Custom folders can be set in ReaLauncher's Options tab. Accessible via the [F2] function key or by dragging the ReaLauncher window bigger in order to show all tabs at the top (see screenshot in post #1).

Thank you. It was the ReaScriptAPI that I hadn't installed - I thought it was optional.
Also I didn't realise I had to tell the Launcher where my projects folder is. It's working now.
Thanks again.
One thing - after cleaning-up the 'recent projects' list using ReaLauncher, in the normal launcher and in Reaper's menus, the entries I deleted were just replaced with an entry which says 'removed'. I was expecting all the deleted entries just to disappear, so that I could more-easily read the list of recent projects.

Very strange. Installing the ReaScriptAPI (required for the audio preview function) should be optional.
And I can reproduce the two error messages from post #328 here only when SWS Extensions are not installed (regardless if the ReascriptAPI is installed or not).
But great to hear that it's working now.

There are some code improvements planned for the [Recent Projects] tab functions in the upcoming update.

I have another idea to improve the launcher (if it already exists, so sorry). For example, create another tab named "Favorites" or "Bookmark". And from the "Recent project" tab using the new "Add to Favorites" button, save selected project links to the "Favorites" tab.

Can you please post more details.
I already tried to ask you about some additional info in a previous post ( https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=302). But didn't get any replies.

It's been some busy weeks, but the next big iteration of ReaLauncher is finally here
Quote:
version 2.0
+ Audio Preview: Playback of another preview (if one is already playing) can now be started directly
+ Audio Preview: Fixed a bug when checking for available files if the list was filtered
+ Filter: The last filter field entries are now saved
+ Filter: The active status of the filter is now indicated by changing the font color
+ Filter: Added function to clear the filter field (via [x] button or 'Backspace/Delete' key)
+ General: Subfolder panel improvements: show/hide folder paths, don't list empty custom folders
+ General: Added first implementation for multiple custom folder support (paths are set in the [Options] tab, separated by a semicolon
+ General: Comprehensive refactoring and optimization of code base
+ Recent Projects: Code improvements for reading and removing entries (requires SWS Extensions)
+ UI: Got a few updates and is now scalable (via the function keys [F10], [F11] and [F12])
|
Besides the new additions, a lot of code was restructured and optimized in this version. So please let me know if you encounter any bugs.
Some notes on the new scaling function: - The function key [F10] toggles between a small and big window size
- The function keys [F12] and [F11] scale the window size up and down
- I recommend to close and restart ReaLauncher after adjusting the scaling size

Hello, solger
If you don't mind, a wish )
An option to sort the project list (in the Projects tab) by access date.
This way it would be almost the same as the Recent Projects list, only unlimited! Which I think is better.

Minor update available:
Quote:
version 2.1
+ Audio Preview: Bugfix for 'nil value' error when checking for available preview files
+ General: Added 'Save as New Version' checkbox (to save the loaded project(s) with an incremented version number: _1, _2, ...)
|
The 'Save as New Version' feature uses Reaper's native File: Save new version of project (automatically increment project name) Action.
As example: - Default.rpp -> Default_1.rpp
- TestProject_2.rpp -> TestProject_3.rpp

I'm having an issue unfortunately (had them with the previous version as well). The "Recent Projects" list is not sorted in any noticeable order (definitely not the "most recent to older projects" which I believe is the desired behaviour). :/
Would be amazing if we could sort it by alphabetical order as well (but that'd be a bonus).
Very cool about the "Save as New Version", that's what I was dreaming about :-) Except I would like the leading character to either be customisable (for example replace the "_" with a "space". But as you mentioned it's using Reaper's native function I'm not sure this is possible?

If you haven't already, try if clearing the entire recent projects list once (via the right-click menu option) helps.
As a side note: the order of the list results from the entry order (most recent to last) in the reaper.ini. And in comparison to the Recent Projects listed in the file menu, ReaLauncher always reads all entries (and older duplicate entries will be skipped).

I'll add an additional note to the feature wish list (since general sorting options are already on there).

Yeah, I have already thought about this when adding the current implementation.
Checking for custom patterns (with a space, hyphen, etc. before the version number) and saving projects with a custom name (if possible) makes things a little bit more complex to implement.
But there might probably be some improvements in future updates

Hi Solger
The issues I was having with this before seem to be solved now.
One little issue now is the mouseover tool tips don't come up near the mouse, instead a couple inches above and sometimes far enough to be on my other screen.

Seems to be mainly an issue under macOS. I'll investigate this further ...

Check the following things: - Is Lokasenna's GUI library v2 for Lua installed?
- And did you already run the Script: Set Lokasenna_GUI v2 library path.lua Action from the Action List afterwards?

I guess it might be possible somehow, but I'll have to take a closer look at the available APIs and options first to know exactly what's possible.

I already added FX chain lists to the feature wish list in post #2 when you mentioned it the first time ( https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=302)
By the way: I still haven't received any more details from you regarding the other request (audio media function like in sws): https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=335

Some things along these lines are already on the feature wish list in post #2 ( https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...98&postcount=2).
As example: adding additional sort options or showing additional info like 'last modified' ,'created', 'ratings', etc.
In regards to tagging: are you looking for something specific. Or basically for the things mentioned in this thread?: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=226743

I was going to comment that the font is so much smaller in this update, but I found that it has scaling options, looks beautiful!
