Default Kontakt, instances vs multi

Hi!

For a project using 16instruments in Kontakt
when loaded as multi, let's say 3GB ram
How would that compare if all instruments where loaded as separate intances? Ram and cpu
(So 16instruments, 1 instance vs. 16instr., 16 instances)

Hi Geir, when you say "16instruments, 1 instance vs. 16instr., 16 instances", do you actually mean
"16instruments, 1 instance vs. 16 instances each containing 1 instrument"?

I assume you did, and there have been many tests about this. I used to be a stickler for using 1 instance
of Kontakt with 16 instruments. However I've changed my way of thinking some. For example, if I have Bass,
Rhodes, Piano, Violin section, viola section, Cello section, Acoustic Guitars, Steel Guitar, EP-piano, and Tele,
I used to put them all in 1 instance of Kontakt.

However, for better control and clarity, I might do it this way now.

Kontackt 1: Bass, Rhodes, Piano, EP-piano.

Kontackt 2: Violin section, Cello section.

Kontackt 3: Acoustic Guitars. (I've got up to 5 of them I might use in a session)

Kontackt 4: Steel Guitar, Tele.

This don't change the way I arrange or write the music, but it makes it easier to keep track of it all. Plus I
have enough computer power to handle it now.

I don't think Kontakt itself takes up a lot of memory or uses a lot of CPU.
