Default Need clarification on Pre-Fader setter for send/recieves

I just want to clarify, I am learning a lot by watching videos from several creators on YouTube, including our own Keny Gioia, and I just wanted to clarify.

Most of the time when told to set something up as 'Pre-Fader', I notice in Reaper that there is a 'Post Fx' and 'Pre Fx' choice.

So, if the crator of the video does not specifically say which one of these two to choose, which one should I be using?

On the Send or Receive, the options are:

Pre-Fader (Post FX)
Post-Fader (Post Pan)
Pre-Fx

Either Pre-Fx or Pre-fader (Post FX) will be pre-fader. One will include the FX and the other won't.
