Default Can't hear reaper playback through external studio monitors

Hey All,

How can I hear my track playback through external monitor speakers in Reaper? I can hear the track in my headphones and the volume is up on both, power is on and all cables are connected.

I'm using using a Behringer U-phoria UM2 and Tascam VL‑S3 studio monitors connected via a RCA Audio Cable - 4 Feet. I've attached a couple of screen shots.

Also would I be able to hear my guitar through the monitors while I'm recording the track? Any help would be appreciated!

hi!

the headphones are connected to the interface?
you don't need to create hardware sends on the recording track, just be sure the output are correct on the master track.

If you can hear on the headphones and they're connected to the same interface than you should hear though the monitors too.
the direct monitor button is on or off?

To hear the guitar while recording as playback from reaper because you're usign guitar rig or something else you need to turn on the monitoring in the track (that button with the little speaker). I don't use the default theme so i don't know if in your screenshot the button in on or off.

Did you try the interface with another software (like VLC, WMP, Winamp or anything else)?

According to the screenshot the Input Monitoring button is enabled. But I can't see if the Track is Armed for Recording.

@whilemyguitargentlyWeaps:

Have a look at this video in general: https://www.reaper.fm/videos.php#iLC1HjLXLd0
All relevant input and monitoring options are also accessible at once by right-clicking on the Record Arm button on the track.

And as metal_priest already mentioned, you don't need to use any direct hardware outputs on Track 1. Just make sure that the Behringer Stereo Out 1 / Out 2 (where the speakers are connected to) is set up as hardware output for the Master Track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCoxSmr-2VU

In case you don't know it already, make sure to also check out the User Guide in general: https://www.reaper.fm/userguide.php
