Default SWS Features Explained

Hey folks!

I've been doing scattered SWS tutorials on my channel. I'm starting to put them together in Playlists now. This playlist is all about SWS features:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...yupUI-9MQwsPmd

So far we have covered auto-color, LFO Generator, a bit on cycle actions, and some extra custom actions made possible with SWS. The list will grow in the future!

If you have specifics areas of SWS you'd like me to cover, let me know and I'll do a tutorial on those!

Perfect. Although I’ve used reaper for quite a while, I recently took the dive into SWS, and I definitely need some of it explained to me. Thank you for all your hard work!

Your video about using Snapshots as an alternative to "Save As" is pretty interesting. However as someone pointed out in the comments, it is too risky to rely fully on it as some things are not saved.

Should someone of the SWS people read this, I think it would be a great idea to work on the Snapshots feature, stress-test it and (if technically possible) make it a 100% reliable substitute for saving different versions of projects.

Yeah it's a big regret of mine to have kinda blazed through that topic without mentioning potential downfalls. That said, if one is really done with the editing, no more fades, no more items to import, no more routing to do, and is just strictly mixing (plugins, automation, levels/panning) then it does work way better than save as...ing in my opinion.

Another thing that has bitten me personally, is if you accidentally overwrite a saved snapshot instead of load it, which I have done a bunch of times, so I save a few snapshots as backups too, but yes I should've mentioned all that in the video, rather than sound like Billy Mays selling you some magic cleaner haha
